Comparing capitalist systems
Compare systems on consistent dimensions instead of treating one country as universal.
Capitalist economies differ in public services, business finance, employment relations, and competition rules. One country’s policy is not the whole of capitalism.
Begin with a comparison table rather than a league table. Choose two cases, the same period, and comparable indicators, documenting definitions and context. A better outcome does not establish that your preferred policy caused it.
Institutions also interact. An arrangement may face different incentives, administrative capacity, or trust elsewhere. Learning from it requires mechanisms and conditions, not simply copying a label.
Make your understanding visible
Name four dimensions for comparing two vocational-training systems without declaring a winner.
Compare with a reference response
Funding, curriculum participation, employment outcomes, and barriers to access. Specify comparable years and populations, then obtain primary data.
