Build an institutional analysis
Test the route with a report that others can question and revise.
Choose a question you can investigate, such as a shop’s price increase or barriers to entering an industry. State the scope, actors, rules, incentives, and outcomes. Do not start by selecting material to prove capitalism good or bad.
Keep at least two competing explanations, with evidence and limits for each. Label observations, inferences, and value judgments. If evidence is missing, explain what would change your view. An honest investigation may remain inconclusive.
Offer a limited recommendation with possible costs and invite another reader to challenge it. Record revisions. Completing this route establishes a starting method, not mastery of economic history, political thought, or macroeconomics.
Make your understanding visible
Write one page: question, two explanations, evidence for each, limits, and next step.
Compare with a reference response
Assess specificity, evidence matched to claims, caution about causation, explicit trade-offs, and a further research question. There is no prescribed political conclusion.
